i first heard of julixo when i put my hands on his fantastic ep called silas released on rauh 005. after that, i kept a close eye on the sounds he was posting, and when i heard rebho, i knew we were going to do something together. the warm synth line, together with the jackin drum patterns, were perfect. then came reflections, which fitted superbly with rebho. although slower, and maybe more introspective, you still have that warm feeling going through the track. we decided to go with life of crime on the other side of the record. much more aggressive in its construction, that track deserved a side on its own: modern techno at its best. i hope you will enjoy this nice versatile release as much as i do! best regards, philippe petit

after last autumn’s ‘knowledge ep’, héctor oaks returns to key vinyl with four more solid dancefloor fillers of the kind we’re starting to expect from the berlin-based upstart. now several records deep and with his fourth berghain set firmly behind him, these days his sound is about as honed and gratifying as skills from the booth. and ‘kepler 186f’ is the proof.
on the a-side “dissolve” sets its sinews to march on this taut, tough and punchy number. “radial clicles” then reins in the muscle a bit in favour of a more skulking, spectral slow-build. meanwhile on the b-side, “stone storage” sends cool cymbals and crunchy hats on a sinuous, calculated romp. leaving “avoid reality” to close in noisy, bombastic fashion. but watch out—this one’s a bit of a tease.

mono junks label dum records is back! in 1994 an untitled 12” ep emerged from helsinki, finland. it was produced by an unknown duo called coopers and released by dum records. that particular squelchy sounding piece of wax helped to establish the sound that was later to be known as finnish minimal techno. alongside sähkö recordings, dum was one of the mainstays of gloomy northern electronics until its death in 2007. after an extremely long hiatus both dum records and coopers have now resurrected and instead of their trademark minimalism they offer now a 3-piece ep full of techno maximality! * indian acid* is a wonky excursion in repetition topped with roland corporations classical tr-727 congas, * ixam* takes you back to the soundscapes of 90s dreary finnish acid and * maximal fun* is a 12-minute trip to the electronic kraut techno madness of the coopers. play loud and preferably in dark. coopers are back with a vengeance!

after his standout debut ep on the label in 2012, nick sinna is now back on trusme s prime numbers label with three more searing techno tracks that come complete with a remix from vril. sinna is a manchester native with the citys rich musical heritage running through his veins. from d&b to hip hop and on to house and techno, he has a diverse array of influences but distills them all into his own rugged sound, often made using some authentic bits of hardware.

brainwash is back. after an excellent acceptance daybreak the time has come for miniature, another ep of one of the leading techno producers in poland - larix. edition consists 4 tracks (including one bonus, released earlier on the limited compilation leisure system). from start to finish the material is notable for characteristic groove - simply techno.

nicole moudaber is a name we are used to hearing on the radar as a drumcode artist and she is showing us what she can do on the funkier side of the spectrum with her new ep now landing on truesoul. both tracks merge her signature techno sound into something that still contains stacks of class and character. the evolving sounds in both tracks build tension and energy to create after hour burners.

after retiring from the jamaican police force arthur duke reid established his treasure isle liquor store and sound system in pink lane kingston and was crowned the undisputed king of sound and blues in 1956, 57 and in 58. the duke then moved into record production and after relocating the store to 33 bond street, he then built a recording studio on top of his new premises in 1966. according to the musicians and singers the wooden construction of the treasure isle recording studio gave the music a distinctive warmth and richness and with resident engineer byron baron/smithy smith at the controls, the sound of a bond street recording was immediately recognisable.
